There isn't much to report here. This is a short piece for solo piano written for David Kaplan, who has a brilliant project (one of many "brilliant projects" it seems) to have composers create works based on portions of Schumann's Davidsbündlertänze, Op. 6. The movement I was drawn to is No. 7: Nicht schnell. Mit äusserst starker Empfindung...with its fluid rising and rolling chords, with melodic lines ever so often emerging atop the cresting wave of arpeggiations, all of which is offset in the most Schumman of Schumannesque turns - the contrasting (but fully compatible) emotive middle section.

My piece is nothing like the Schumann.
